FASHION GUIDE FOR THE PLUS SIZE GIRL

Being a plus size doesn’t mean you can’t look fabulous. It’s certainly not about the number on your clothing tags but about dressing yourself in a way that makes you feel comfortable and shows off your best features. Top that with a dose of confidence and the world is your runway.

Sure it can be challenging at times to find that right fit, but trust me its normal. Ask the size zero chicks and they will tell you all about it.

Ask me and I will say the basic rules of fashion is the same for all. So for the next few months every sunday we will be looking at the fashion rules that will help the plus size person spice up his or her wardrobe and step up her fashion game. So tune in …..

RULE 1. KNOW YOUR BODY TYPE OR SHAPE.

It is imperative that you know your body shape. Are you a pear, apple, hourglass or busty. Do your research. Having this knowledge will make things easier. If you are hearing these terms for the first time, it may sound ridiculous, but its ok don’t panic and certainly don’t  relax.

Take time to research and understand the various body shapes, know which one best describes you, find out what the expects have recommended and learn a thing or two. This will make your whole shopping and dressing experience easier. One thing for sure is instead of spending all your time and effort trying to change your body, you’d rather emphasize on your advantages and minimize the considerations. Everyone has at least one really attractive feature on which they can focus – eyes, lips, shoulders, waist. Find yours.

RULE 2:  MONOCHROME TO GO

Dressing in monochrome is always slimming. Yea, true as it may be, careful not to abuse it.Monochrome can be really flattering for anyone. It helps creates a long, lean, continual line; but simply throwing on random pieces in the same shade can also make you look sloppy. Here’s the way to go, go in for different fabrics. Add an item with texture or a material like chiffon—and accessorize with a pop of color—rather than wearing the same fabric from head to toe. Nudes are also great but it shouldn’t be the exact same color as your skin tone.
